is Endodontics? endo•dontics field of specialization in root canals. An endodontist is a dentist who strictly deals with the nerve of the tooth. He may perform simple to difficult root canal treatments as well as surgical procedures. Dr. Bhagat and his colleagues may perform an apicoectmy (surgically removing the tip of the tooth) or a root amputaion, which involves removing a root on a multi-rooted tooth.
